I'm resurfacing after a few months of nose-to-the-grindstone work; creating and vetting an educational guide, designing and supervising the execution of a DVD for educational distribution that includes chapter headings and closed captioning. And working with Kanopy.com to make Chinese Couplets, Carved in Silence, and China: Land of My Father available to see via streaming.
November marks the beginning of a screening tour of Chinese Couplets to launch the educational distribution. I’m honored to be asked to show the film at the California Library Association’s “Swing Into Action” Conference in Sacramento, CA on November 4th. The following week, I’ll be showing the film at the Pre-conquest Indigenous Cultures & Its Aftermath (PICA) Conference in Seattle, Washington. On the week of November 14th, a whirl wind visit to Boston where screenings are scheduled at Bunker Hill Community College, Amherst University, Wellesley, Bridgewater State University and a co-hosted event by Chinese American Citizens Alliance and Chinese Historical Societies of New England.
Back home by Thanksgiving…and I have much to be thankful for.
